Keukenhof 2027: dates, tickets and the easiest way to get there

Keukenhof 2027 is open from Thursday, March 18, 2027 to Sunday, May 9, 2027, daily from 8am to 7pm with last entry at 6:15pm, and every ticket is for a fixed date and arrival time; tickets go on sale on October 15, 2026, from €21 online for an adult. The gardens are in Lisse, about 39 km (42 minutes on a clear road) from central Amsterdam and 21 km from Schiphol. You can go on the KeukenhofBuzz bus from Amsterdam RAI, in a rental car, or with a chauffeur who collects you at your hotel or at Schiphol and waits while you walk the park.

Below is every question we answer about Keukenhof 2027, each on its own page: when to go, time slots and tickets, the bus, parking, traveling with children, seniors or a group, the tulip fields, the Flower Parade and the days around Easter, King’s Day and the last week. Keukenhof still has to publish part of its 2027 details — the combi tickets with the bus, the event calendar, the Schiphol shuttle — and we update this guide and the date below when it does. AmstelCab has no connection with Keukenhof; we drive people there.

Plan your day

When should I visit Keukenhof in 2027 to see the tulips at their best?

Aim for April 15 to 30, 2027, the fortnight Keukenhof itself calls peak bloom, when the larger tulips flower alongside daffodils, grape hyacinths and fritillaries.

My Keukenhof 2027 ticket has a time slot — what time should my driver pick me up?

Have the car reach Keukenhof about 15 minutes before the arrival time on your ticket: from a hotel in central Amsterdam, 39 km and about 42 minutes on a clear road, that means a pickup roughly an hour earlier, and from Schiphol, 21 km away, about 45 minutes earlier.

Keukenhof 2027 tickets are sold out for my date — what are my options?

First look for another arrival time on the same date: Keukenhof sells each day in separate time slots, stays open until 7pm and lets people in until 6:15pm.

What if it rains on my Keukenhof day?

Go anyway, and start indoors: Keukenhof’s three pavilions keep their flower shows going in any weather, with orchids and anthuriums in the Juliana Pavilion and tulips and amaryllis in the Willem-Alexander Pavilion.

Is Keukenhof worth visiting at Easter 2027?

Yes, if you come for the spring flowers rather than peak tulips: Easter falls early in 2027, on Sunday, March 28, 2027 and Monday, March 29, ten days after opening and inside the period Keukenhof calls early bloom, with crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths and small tulips.

King’s Day 2027 falls in tulip season — should I go to Keukenhof or stay in Amsterdam?

King’s Day falls on Tuesday, April 27, 2027, inside Keukenhof’s peak-bloom fortnight, and the park opens as usual, holidays included.

Is it worth visiting Keukenhof in the last week of the 2027 season?

Yes, for the gardens: Keukenhof’s late-bloom period, May 1 to 9, still has the last late tulips along with irises and alliums, and the park is open until 7pm on its final day, Sunday, May 9, 2027, which is also Mother’s Day in the US.

How to get there

How much is a private driver for Keukenhof from Amsterdam?

Book the car by the hour from your Amsterdam hotel, with 40 km included in every hour: Business Class is €65, a 7-seat Van Class €80 and First Class €100 per hour.

Keukenhof by bus or private driver: what does each really cost for my group?

The bus is cheaper for any group: in 2026 a KeukenhofBuzz combi ticket from Amsterdam RAI, with entry and the return bus, cost €38.50 per adult and €17.50 per child, so a couple paid €77.

Should I rent a car and park at Keukenhof, or book a driver?

A rental car works: Keukenhof has its own car park, and a parking ticket costs €10 per car online or €15 at the gate, which makes sense if you are touring the region for several days.

Is there a bus from Schiphol to Keukenhof in 2027?

Not a public one: Qbuzz, which runs the KeukenhofBuzz lines, has said works at Schiphol rule out departures from the airport for two years, so bus 858 did not run in 2026 and will not in 2027, whatever older guides still say.

Can I go from Schiphol straight to Keukenhof with my luggage?

Yes: Keukenhof keeps large luggage free of charge at a depot near the main entrance and has free lockers for smaller items, so a car can take you straight from the arrivals hall — about 21 km, some 25 minutes without traffic, about €72 in Business Class — and you collect the cases after the visit.

Schiphol → Keukenhof → my Amsterdam hotel in one day: is it possible?

Yes, if you land by late morning: once through the border (Schiphol’s August 2026 average for non-EU arrivals was one to two hours), Keukenhof is about 25 minutes away by car, most people spend two to four hours in the garden, and entry closes at 18:15, with central Amsterdam some 40 minutes further.

Can I see Keukenhof on a Schiphol layover?

With about 9 hours or more between flights in the season, yes: allow up to two hours for passport control on the way out (Schiphol’s August 2026 average for non-EU travelers was one to two hours), 26 minutes to Keukenhof, three hours in the gardens, and a return to the airport at least 3 hours ahead of a flight to the US.

Can I visit Keukenhof from my cruise ship and be back on board in time?

Yes, if your ship is in port for about seven hours or more: Keukenhof is roughly 43 km (41 minutes on a clear road) from the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, 37 km from the Felison terminal in IJmuiden and 56 km from the Rotterdam cruise terminal, and you want three hours in the gardens plus a wide margin before all-aboard.

How do I get to Keukenhof from The Hague, Rotterdam or Leiden?

Leiden is the closest, 19 km and about 23 minutes by car, and KeukenhofBuzz bus 854 ran from Leiden Centraal up to 6 times an hour in 2026; from The Hague (32 km) or Rotterdam (53 km), the usual way is the train to Leiden and then that bus.

Traveling with…

Is Keukenhof doable for seniors or wheelchair users, and how close can the car get?

Yes, with planning: Keukenhof’s park rules allow wheelchairs, and in the 2026 season it lent non-electric wheelchairs you could reserve online and welcomed visitors’ own electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Keukenhof with a baby or toddler: what do I need to know?

Keukenhof’s park rules allow strollers and buggies, children under 4 go in free, and in 2026 you could eat your own food in the picnic area, which helps with small children.

Can we book one company for the airport transfer and a Keukenhof day trip with kids?

Yes: book the Schiphol arrival in Van Class — €125 to any Amsterdam address for up to 7 people and 7 bags — and a Keukenhof day by the hour from your hotel, €80 an hour in Van Class (€400 for 5 hours), with the same child and baby seats fitted before each ride at €5 each.

How do we get a group of 8 to 20 people to Keukenhof together?

Our largest car seats 7, so a group of 8 to 14 travels in two Van Class cars and up to 21 in three, each booked by the hour from your hotel: a 5-hour Keukenhof day is €400 per van, €800 for two.

What is the best time and route for photographing Keukenhof and the tulip fields?

Take the first arrival time of the day, 8am, when the paths are at their emptiest, and photograph the tulip fields around it from the road in the early morning or the evening light, because the working fields are private.

Planning a proposal or anniversary at Keukenhof — how do we make the day special?

Choose the first or the last hours of the day, when the paths are quietest, and arrive in a First Class car, €100 an hour, with the Mercedes-Maybach available on request, so the drive is part of the occasion.

Beyond the gardens

Can I hire a driver for a tulip fields tour outside Keukenhof?

Yes: hire a car by the hour from Amsterdam — €65 an hour in Business Class with 40 km included per hour, so €260 for 4 hours — and have the chauffeur drive the lanes of the bulb region around Lisse, stopping wherever you want a photo.

Where can I walk into a tulip field near Keukenhof without breaking the rules?

Not into the working fields, which are private and easily damaged; you photograph those from the road.

Where are the biggest tulip fields in the Netherlands, and is a day trip from Amsterdam worth it?

In the Noordoostpolder, about 88 km (1 h 12 on a clear road) northeast of Amsterdam: its municipality grows more tulips than any other in the country, some 2,000 hectares a year, and its Tulip Festival, April 16 to May 2, 2027, signposts a free driving route past the fields.

Can I see Keukenhof and the Zaanse Schans windmills in one day?

Yes, by car, if you start early: the Zaanse Schans lies on the other side of Amsterdam, about 45 km and 41 minutes on a clear road from Keukenhof, so take the 8am arrival time, leave the gardens around 11:30 and you have the afternoon among the windmills before a 22 minutes drive back into the city.

Can I combine Keukenhof and Haarlem in one day?

Yes, Haarlem is the easiest city to pair with Keukenhof: it is about 25 km and 29 minutes away by car, and about 33 minutes from Amsterdam again, so a morning in the gardens and an afternoon in Haarlem fit in an 8-hour booking, €520 in Business Class.

How do I see the 2027 Flower Parade without getting stuck in traffic?

Pick one spot and get there early: the 2027 parade leaves Noordwijk on Saturday, April 17, 2027, and rolls 42 km through Voorhout, Sassenheim, Lisse, Hillegom, Bennebroek and Heemstede to Haarlem, and the roads around each viewing point close about 2 hours before and after it passes.

Why travelers book a driver for Keukenhof

A car is not the only way to Keukenhof, and for two people with light bags staying near a metro to RAI, the KeukenhofBuzz bus is the cheaper answer. A chauffeur earns its price when the day has more in it than the gardens:

  • Door to door from your hotel or from the Schiphol arrivals hall, and the chauffeur waits while you walk the park
  • Coats, bags and shopping stay in the car; suitcases too, on an arrival day
  • Stops at the tulip fields on the way, wherever it is safe and legal to pull over
  • Room for a stroller, a walker or a folding wheelchair, and child seats fitted before pickup
  • One price per car: €65 an hour in Business Class, €80 in Van Class, €100 in First Class

Keeping this guide current

Every fact on these pages carries its source and the date we checked it. Keukenhof publishes its 2027 combi tickets with public transport, its event calendar and its bloom reports during the winter and the season; the Flower Parade publishes its times per town in advance. When they do, we update one fact sheet and every page that uses it.
