KEUKENHOF 2027 · PHOTOGRAPHERS

What is the best time and route for photographing Keukenhof and the tulip fields?

Take the first arrival time of the day, 8am, when the paths are at their emptiest, and photograph the tulip fields around it from the road in the early morning or the evening light, because the working fields are private. Leave the drone at home: Keukenhof’s park rules ban flying one over the park. A driver by the hour from Amsterdam, €65 an hour in Business Class and the same rate at 6am as at noon, can stop at a field before the gates open and wait while you shoot.

Related questions

When is the best light for photos at Keukenhof?

The first hour after the gates open at 8am, when the paths are nearly empty and the sun is low; the last hours before closing at 7pm are the second choice. Last entry is 6:15pm.

Where are the best tulip fields to photograph near Lisse?

Around Lisse, Hillegom, Noordwijkerhout, De Zilk and Sassenheim, but the exact fields move every year, so nobody can give you an address in advance. A chauffeur who drives the lanes on the day finds the ones in color.

Can I fly a drone over the tulip fields near Keukenhof?

Not over Keukenhof itself: its park rules forbid drones and other flying objects. Over the fields, Dutch drone rules apply, and the area lies close to Schiphol, so check the rules for your drone before you bring it.
