Amstelveen,
ten kilometres from the terminal.
Amsterdam’s southern neighbour, and the address in the Randstad with the shortest airport run of all: 10 kilometres of A9 and you are at the departure hall. A chauffeur here is less about distance than about doors — head offices, international schools and the Stadshart, each reached at the entrance rather than the car park.
Amstelveen, without the parking, the meter or the wait.
Amstelveen is a municipality in its own right, but calling it a city would be flattering the map. There is no old core to speak of, no national railway station, and the centre is a covered shopping precinct — the Stadshart — rather than a market square. What it has instead is a plan: broad green avenues, water and parkland folded between the neighbourhoods, the Amsterdamse Bos along its northern edge, and the A9 cutting straight through the middle with Schiphol one junction to the west and the Zuidas one exit to the north.
That position explains who we drive. Head offices and consultancies sit in the office strip along the motorway at Kronenburg and out at Bovenkerk and Legmeer. International schools bring families who arrive with a relocation date rather than a holiday, and a large and long-settled Japanese community keeps its own shops and restaurants around the Stadshart. Students fill Uilenstede on the northern boundary. Between them they produce the two kinds of booking we know best here: a guest landing at Schiphol who needs to be at a named reception twenty minutes later, and a family with more luggage than a tram will take.
Public transport is good and beside the point for those two jobs. The tram runs down the Beneluxbaan from Amsterdam Zuid through the Stadshart to Westwijk, and the buses along the Amsterdamseweg are frequent, but the nearest trains are at Amsterdam Zuid, Amsterdam RAI and Schiphol itself — each of them a transfer with a suitcase at the end. A car that starts at your front door in Elsrijk, Middenhoven or Westwijk removes the transfer entirely, and on a ten-kilometre airport run it costs less than most people expect.

The covered centre with the theatre and the Cobra Museum beside it — the address most visitors mean when they say “Amstelveen”, and where the tram from Amsterdam Zuid runs past the door.
The towers and head offices along the motorway, five minutes from the Zuidas and ten from the runway, where most of our weekday pickups begin.
Business and light-industrial ground in the south-west of the town, quick to reach on the ring roads and awkward to find without a chauffeur who has been before.
The student quarter on the northern boundary, a short hop from Amsterdam Zuid, with guests and visiting academics who usually come straight from arrivals.
The older green neighbourhoods between the Amsterdamseweg and the Amstelveenseweg — front-door pickups, often at an hour when nothing else is moving.
The newer south of the town at the end of the tram line, where an early flight means leaving before the first service runs.
The wood and the water along the northern edge, with the Bosbaan rowing course inside it — an easy, quiet place to be collected or dropped after a walk.
The everyday workhorse: sedans for one to three passengers.
Room for groups, families and luggage, with up to seven seats.
Flagship saloons for executives and VIP arrivals.
The pinnacle: Mercedes-Maybach, by request only.

Private chauffeur, airport transfers and hourly hire in Hoofddorp, North Holland.
About 10 kilometres and roughly 6 minutes: the A9 west to the Badhoevedorp junction and straight into the airport. It is one of the shortest transfers we drive, which means the queue at the terminal entrance decides the timing far more than the distance does — your chauffeur allows for it when suggesting a pickup time.
No — that flat rate covers addresses inside Amsterdam, and Amstelveen sits just outside it. The ride is calculated by distance instead, with the short-ride minimum doing the work on a run this brief: €50 in Business Class, €70 in Van Class, €90 in First Class. Per car, taxes included, identical in both directions.
At whatever address you give us: a house in Bankras, an office at Kronenburg, a school gate, a hotel entrance. If you are arriving by train we collect at Amsterdam Zuid or Amsterdam RAI instead — the chauffeur waits at the exit you name rather than in the taxi rank, and helps with the bags from there.
Every working week. Kronenburg, Bovenkerk and Legmeer are our regular Amstelveen stops, and we set guests down at the building entrance they were told to report to, not at the nearest car park. A morning that takes in several of them is usually better booked by the hour from €65.
It is a large part of the work here. We meet the flight with a name sign, take seven passengers and seven bags in one Van Class instead of splitting a family across two cars, and fit child or baby seats on request. Viewing days and school visits are easiest by the hour, with the car waiting between appointments.
