What’s the fastest way to get from Schiphol to RAI Amsterdam?
If you travel light, the direct train: Schiphol to Amsterdam RAI station takes about 9 minutes, and the station is a couple of minutes’ walk from the venue. With luggage or several people, a pre-booked car takes about 15 minutes on a clear road via the A4 and A10 and is a fixed €90 per car in Business Class, VAT included, with the chauffeur waiting inside the arrivals hall so there is no taxi line.

When the train wins, and when the car does
When the train is fine
- You land in the daytime with a carry-on and go straight to the show.
- Your hotel is next to Amsterdam RAI station.
- Buy the ticket to “Amsterdam RAI” — searching for just “RAI” can give the wrong result, as HLTH Europe’s directions warn.
When a chauffeur is the better choice
- You have checked bags, a stand kit or samples.
- Three to seven colleagues: one Van Class car at €125 for up to 7 people and 7 bags.
- You want to stop at the hotel before the show.
- You land very early or late, or after a long passport-control line.
Landing at 7am, show opens at 10am
- Passport control. Non-EU travelers register under the EU Entry/Exit System; in August 2026 Schiphol reported average waits of one to two hours.
- Chauffeur in the arrivals hall. Flight tracked, your name on the sign, luggage carried to the car.
- Hotel or straight to the RAI. Drop your suitcase at the hotel first if you can; storing a case inside the venue is up to the organizer.
- At the RAI before the doors open. The ride itself is short — the variable is the line at the border.

Is the taxi line long at Schiphol during big trade shows?

Is there a trade-show shuttle from Schiphol?
It depends on the show; several organizers now point attendees to the train instead. For example, IBC says it no longer runs a complimentary airport shuttle, and Metstrade’s travel page lists no shuttle from Schiphol.
