Are there porters at Schiphol airport, and how do I book one?
Yes: Schiphol’s porter service runs 24 hours a day between the reclaim hall, the check-in desks and the taxi stand, stations and Kiss & Ride, but you must book it by e-mail at least 5 days ahead; the minimum rate is €15 and you pay the porter by card. If a chauffeur is collecting you, you don’t need one after customs: the chauffeur takes your bags from the arrivals hall to the car, included in the €90 Business Class price.

Porter, chauffeur, or both?
A porter helps inside the building: at the belt, through customs, to a train or a taxi. A chauffeur takes over at the doors of the arrivals hall and carries everything to the car, parked in the Privium section at the front of P1, a covered walk of about two minutes.
Travelers with many cases and little strength for them sometimes book both: a porter from the belt to the doors, and a chauffeur from the doors onward. If someone in your party needs help walking, Schiphol’s separate assistance for reduced mobility is booked through your airline.
Related questions
Can I get a porter at Schiphol without booking?
Schiphol asks for bookings at least 5 days in advance, so don’t count on finding a porter on the spot.
Does the chauffeur help at the baggage belt?
No — the belt is past passport control, where only passengers go. Your chauffeur waits at the doors of your arrivals hall and takes over the bags there.
Is a porter the same as wheelchair assistance?
No. Assistance for reduced mobility is a separate, free service you request through your airline; see wheelchair assistance and pickup.
