KEUKENHOF 2027 · CHERRY BLOSSOMS · AMSTELVEEN

Can I see the Amstelveen cherry blossoms and Keukenhof on the same day in 2027?

Yes, if the timing lines up, but expect a smaller show than in older photos: the Bloesempark in the Amsterdamse Bos has more than 400 Japanese cherry trees, a gift from the Japan Women's Club in 2000, which usually flower in mid to late March, and it is being renewed until spring 2029 because waterlogged, trampled soil was killing trees. It is about 30 minutes from Keukenhof by car, so gardens in the morning and blossoms in the afternoon fit one late-March day.

What has changed in the park

Twelve dead cherry trees were felled on January 23, 2026, and the renewal brings new trees, better soil and a new layout. On June 19, 2026, the Emperor and Empress of Japan planted a new cherry tree in the Bloesempark, the first of the replanting.

A combined day in late March

8am Keukenhof slot · 12:30pm a picnic under the blossoms (hanami) · 3pm back at your hotel. About 7 hours: €560 in Van Class or €455 in Business Class, per car.

Be gentle with the park

Visitors' feet compacted the soil. Stay on the paths and park edges, never climb or shake the trees, and go on a weekday if you can.
