Is it safe to accept a ride from someone offering a taxi in the Schiphol arrivals hall?
No — Schiphol’s own advice is not to use taxis that are offered to you without asking, and to follow the taxi signs so you know you are getting into an approved taxi at the official stand in front of Schiphol Plaza. Someone who approaches you gives you no way to check the car, the license or the price in advance, while a legal taxi has a blue plate, an on-board computer and a tariff card capped by the 2026 national maximum that you can read before you get in.

Your chauffeur’s name and the car’s plate are on My Ride before pickup. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At Schiphol the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). How to say no
A simple “No thank you, I have a ride” and walking on is enough. If you haven’t booked, follow the taxi signs and floor stickers to the stand; you do not need to explain anything to anyone on the way.
