Is the tram from Amsterdam Centraal OK with big suitcases?
With one suitcase each and a hotel near a stop, it works: many lines start at Central Station, trams 2 and 12 among them to Leidseplein and 12 on to Museumplein, and GVB says its vehicle floors are often level with the stop. With several large cases, children, or a hotel down a canal-side street away from the line, a car is simpler, a fixed €50 per car in Business Class to any hotel within 10 km.

Fixed at booking, per car, VAT included. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At an airport or an intercity station the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). Free cancellation up to 1 hour before pickup.

What is included in the price
- A fixed price confirmed at booking, with VAT included: no meter and no surge

Tram or car from Centraal
The tram is fine when
- Each of you has one suitcase you can lift yourself
- Your hotel is a short, flat walk from a tram stop
- You arrive in daylight or early evening
Take a car when
- You have more than one large case each, up to 7 in a van
- You travel with children, a stroller or someone who should not carry
- The hotel is on a canal-side street away from the tram line
- You arrive late and tired after a long journey

Is the walk from the stop the hard part?
It can be, with heavy cases: canal-side streets can have narrow pavements, and hotel entrances may have steps. See help with canal-house stairs and luggage for what a chauffeur can and cannot do there.
Is the tram accessible with a wheelchair?
