I arrive at Amsterdam Centraal at 10pm by Eurostar — how do I get to my hotel?
At 10pm you still have every option: trams run from the square in front of the station until the night buses take over around 00:30, and the taxi rank is open all night. If you have heavy bags or simply want it settled, book a car for the train: the chauffeur waits at the main exit in front of the Ibis Hotel on Stationsplein, and a hotel within 10 km is €50 per car in Business Class, the same at night as by day.

No night surcharge: the fixed price at 11pm is the price at noon. Booked less than 12 hours ahead, 10% is added. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At an airport or an intercity station the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). Free cancellation up to 1 hour before pickup.

What is included in the price
- A fixed price confirmed at booking, with VAT included: no meter and no surge
- The chauffeur’s name, car and phone number before pickup, plus e-mail reminders 24 hours and 2 hours ahead
- Water and phone chargers (iOS and Android) in the car
- Status updates to the person who booked, if that is not the passenger: confirmed, chauffeur en route, guest in the car, arrived
Off a late train
- Send the train number when you book. Eurostar trains from London and Brussels arrive at Centraal; the chauffeur plans around yours.
- Out through the main hall. To Stationsplein, on the city side; the chauffeur is in front of the Ibis Hotel.
- Running late? Message the chauffeur the new arrival time; nothing needs rebooking.
- Straight to the door. Most central hotels lie within 10 km, the band with one fixed minimum fare.

What if the Eurostar runs late?
Send the new arrival time to the chauffeur or to dispatch on WhatsApp. At long-distance train stations the terms give 60 minutes of waiting after the agreed time at no charge, so a late train costs nothing extra.
Is it safe to walk to my hotel at night with luggage?
Central Amsterdam is busy late into the evening, but cobbles, tram rails, cyclists and narrow canal pavements make a long walk with suitcases hard work in the dark. For anything more than a few minutes on foot, take the tram, a taxi or a booked car.
Is the taxi rank at Centraal a safe choice?
