How much does it cost to hire a private driver in Amsterdam by the hour or for a full day?
A chauffeur by the hour costs €65 an hour in Business Class, €80 in Van Class and €100 in First Class, with a 2-hour minimum and 40 km included per hour, so an 8-hour day is €520, €640 or €800 for the car. The chauffeur stays with you, waits between stops and keeps your bags on board; the booking starts and ends in the same city, and a day across several cities gets one fixed quote instead.

At an airport or an intercity station the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). What is included in the price
- A fixed price confirmed at booking, with VAT included: no meter and no surge
- The chauffeur’s name, car and phone number before pickup, plus e-mail reminders 24 hours and 2 hours ahead
- Water and phone chargers (iOS and Android) in the car
- Status updates to the person who booked, if that is not the passenger: confirmed, chauffeur en route, guest in the car, arrived
- Waiting between stops, as part of the hours booked
- Your bags and shopping stay in the car between stops
Booking a driver by the hour
- Choose the start, the hours and the class. Online at /book, or send the plan on WhatsApp if it has several stops.
- Pay and it is confirmed. Online by card, Apple Pay, iDEAL or Klarna; companies can be invoiced on a corporate account.
- On the day, change the plan as you go. Message the chauffeur; extra stops within the hours cost nothing extra.
- Running over is fine. The same hourly rate carries on; kilometers above what is included are charged per km.

Is it cheaper to book separate rides instead?
For one trip from A to B, yes: a fixed transfer is cheaper, for example €80 from any Amsterdam address to Schiphol. Book by the hour when there are two or more stops, waiting in between, or a plan that may change.
Do we pay per passenger?
No, per car, whatever the number of passengers up to the class’s capacity: a family of six in Van Class pays €80 an hour in total.
Can we leave Amsterdam during the booking?
Yes, as long as the day ends back in the city where it started, as it does on a trip to the windmills or Giethoorn. A day that ends elsewhere, or runs through The Hague and Rotterdam, is quoted as one fixed amount for the whole route.
Is the chauffeur also a tour guide?
Our chauffeurs know the city and can suggest where to stop, but they drive rather than guide. For a museum or walking tour in depth, book a licensed guide alongside the car.
Can I hire the Mercedes-Maybach by the hour?
Yes, on request: dispatch confirms the Maybach individually rather than instantly, and the hourly price is quoted with the confirmation.
