The EQE,
Business Class without the noise.
An electric Mercedes saloon for one to three passengers, driven by a chauffeur who has already dealt with the charging. Same fixed prices as the rest of Business Class; a good deal less sound.
What an electric Mercedes changes about the ride, and what it does not.
The first thing passengers notice in the EQE is what is missing: no engine note under the conversation, no tremor through the seat at the lights on the Stadhouderskade, and a pull-away from a canal bridge smooth enough that the coffee stays where it is. For phone calls, and for the last twenty minutes of sleep before an early flight, that quiet is the whole argument.
What does not change is the rest of the job. Three passengers, three bags, water in the armrest and a charger for either kind of phone, a suited English-speaking chauffeur, and the same Business Class price list as the E-Class beside it: €80 to Schiphol, €65 an hour, €3.42 a kilometre. Electric costs nothing extra.
Range is our problem, not yours. The EQE leaves on every job charged for the day, and a long run to Rotterdam, Eindhoven or over the Belgian border is planned by dispatch before we confirm the quote. You will not be asked to wait at a charger on the way to a meeting.
One in the back with the whole bench to yourself, or three colleagues with the armrest up.
Two standard check-in cases in the boot, or one extra-large case; three pieces is the class limit.
Fixed from any Amsterdam address; €90 from the airport into town with the chauffeur waiting in arrivals.
Electric costs the same as everything else in Business Class: per car, taxes included, fixed when you book — no meter and no surge, whatever the A4 is doing.
A silent cabin is a usable office. Take the call from the Zuidas to the Herengracht without the other side hearing you are in a car, and arrive with the notes already sent.
A five in the morning departure from a canal-house hotel on the Prinsengracht arrives without an engine running under the neighbours’ windows, and leaves for Schiphol just as quietly.
When ground transport has to be electric to be booked at all, the EQE is the answer at the standard Business Class rate, on a corporate account with invoicing.
Hourly hire covers the drive in, the wait during the performance and the ride home, at €65 an hour with a two-hour minimum, in a car that draws no attention on the Van Baerlestraat.
One price list for the whole of Business Class, electric or not. Per car, taxes included.
Bookings within 12 hours of pickup carry a 10% short-notice surcharge. Free cancellation up to an hour before pickup; child and baby seats €5 each.
Room for groups, families and luggage, with up to seven seats.
Flagship saloons for executives and VIP arrivals.
The pinnacle: Mercedes-Maybach, by request only.
The EQE, EQE SUV, i5, EQV, EQS and i7: everything we run with a plug, on one page.
The same electric Mercedes, higher off the road and easier to get into.
The EQE’s non-electric sibling in Business Class, on the same price list.
The class page, with all five cars and the one price list they share.
No. Business Class has one price list and the EQE sits on it like every other car in the class: €80 to Schiphol, €90 from it, €65 an hour or €3.42 a kilometre. There is no supplement for choosing electric; you choose it for the quiet.
Yes. Charging is part of dispatch, not something you see. The EQE starts every job with the charge the day needs, and long-distance work to Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Antwerp or Brussels is planned around it before we confirm the fixed quote.
Yes. A cable for iOS and one for Android live in the rear armrest, next to the water. Charge, take the call, and step out at the Zuidas with a full battery of your own.
Yes — add it to the notes when you book. We assign cars by availability, so we do not guarantee a model, but a preference for the electric car is noted and honoured whenever the day allows.
Set the pickup at least three hours before the flight, and book more than twelve hours ahead if you can, since anything inside twelve hours carries a 10% short-notice surcharge. Your chauffeur confirms the departure hall on the day you fly.
