Delft sits on the A13 between The Hague and Rotterdam, with the A4 along its western side. The old town inside the canals is compact and closed to most cars by bollards and permits, so the art of arriving in Delft is arriving at the right edge and walking the last hundred metres. About 55 kilometres, or roughly 35 minutes: the A13 north to Ypenburg and the A4 past Leiden to the airport, or the A4 from the west side of the city. The A4 around Leiden and Hoofddorp thickens in the peaks, which is why dispatch names a collection time rather than leaving you to guess one.
