Bernardus Golf lies in the fields outside Cromvoirt, west of ’s-Hertogenbosch, a little over an hour down the A2 from Amsterdam and about half that from Eindhoven Airport. It is far enough south that the drive is the part worth handing over.

Bernardus Golf occupies a stretch of sandy, gently folded ground at Cromvoirt, in the municipality of Vught, with the N65 between ’s-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg running past the north side of it. Kyle Phillips shaped the course, and his signature is all over it: wide landing areas that narrow the closer you play to the flag, ragged-edged bunkering that looks older than it is, and greens contoured so that the miss on one side is survivable and the miss on the other is not. It is a modern championship layout built in the idiom of much older links, and it does not need weather to defend itself.
The club has hosted the KLM Open, which tells you how the course measures up from the back tees and how much room there is around it for a crowd. The rest of the appeal is regional: this is Brabant, where lunch is not a fifteen-minute interruption and the clubhouse table is part of the round. A day here is usually longer than a day at a course near the ring road, and that is rather the point.

Bernardus is a destination rather than a detour: most parties either come down from the Randstad for the day or fly into Eindhoven and stay the night in Den Bosch.
An early slot in Brabant means leaving the capital before the Utrecht ring wakes up. The car collects from your address, the bags go in the back, and the A2 south past Zaltbommel is an hour of sleep, email or nothing at all.
Eindhoven Airport is the short way in from much of Europe. We follow the flight, meet your guests in the hall with a name sign and have them at the clubhouse inside about half an hour, travel covers and all.
A round here is often a meeting with better scenery. One car for the whole four, a chauffeur who knows to be waiting rather than hovering, and nobody watching the clock because somebody has to drive back to the office.
Brabant tables have a way of running long. The car waits, or leaves and comes back at the hour you name, and a detour into ’s-Hertogenbosch for dinner on the Markt is one message to your chauffeur, not a new booking.

All figures are per car, taxes included. Because Cromvoirt is a genuine journey from Amsterdam rather than a hop, most parties are better off with a fixed point-to-point price than with the meter of an hourly booking.
Hourly hire has a two-hour minimum, includes forty kilometres for every hour booked and must start and end in the same city, which makes it the right shape for a day based in ’s-Hertogenbosch or Eindhoven. Dispatch will compare both models for your itinerary before you commit. Bookings made within twelve hours of pickup carry a ten per cent surcharge; cancellation is free up to an hour before pickup.
From your door to the first tee, and back again.
Send the slot, the number of players and the number of bags. Dispatch works the departure backwards from it and adds a margin for the Utrecht ring and the Zaltbommel bridge, the two places the A2 can cost you twenty minutes.
The chauffeur is outside at the agreed minute and helps the clubs into the boot. From Amsterdam it is the A2 the whole way — Utrecht, over the Waal at Zaltbommel, past ’s-Hertogenbosch and onto the N65 for the last few minutes into Cromvoirt.
You are dropped where the bags come off easily rather than at the far side of the parking. The chauffeur then waits at the club for the round and the lunch, or leaves and returns at a time you set — whichever you booked.
Nobody has been appointed driver, so the nineteenth hole can run as long as it likes. Message your chauffeur when you want the car, add a stop in ’s-Hertogenbosch for dinner if the mood takes you, and everyone is dropped at their own address.

Cromvoirt is a little over an hour and a quarter from central Amsterdam on a clear A2, and much the same from Schiphol. The two places that cost time are the Utrecht ring and the Waal crossing at Zaltbommel, so for a morning tee time we usually leave earlier than the map suggests.
By road it certainly is: Eindhoven Airport is roughly half an hour from the club, against something over an hour from Schiphol. Which airport makes sense depends on your flight, but we meet guests in the arrivals hall at either, with flight tracking and a name sign as standard.
For a day that runs from Amsterdam to Cromvoirt and back, a fixed quote is usually the better deal, because you are not paying for the hours the car spends on the motorway twice.
