How much is a taxi from Schiphol to Amsterdam, and how long does it take?
The drive to the canal ring or the Museum Quarter takes 25 to 35 minutes in normal traffic. A metered taxi may charge at most about €93–€99 for the roughly 24 km to Dam Square under the 2026 national maximum tariff, depending on how long the drive takes, while a pre-booked AmstelCab car costs a fixed €90 in Business Class (€125 in a 7-seat van) whatever the traffic does.

A metered taxi charges for time as well as distance; a fixed price does not move in traffic. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At Schiphol the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). Free cancellation up to 1 hour before pickup.

How long does it take at rush hour?
Longer than the 25–35 minute normal range, especially on weekday mornings on the A4 and A10. We will publish measured rush-hour times from our own rides once we have enough of them.
Is a taxi at night more expensive?
Not above the legal maximum, which is the same at any hour; AmstelCab’s fixed prices are also the same day and night.
