CRUISE PORTS AND RIVER CRUISES · ROTTERDAM PORT DAY: KINDERDIJK, DELFT OR THE CITY

We have five or six hours in Rotterdam from our cruise ship. Kinderdijk, Delft or the city?

With six hours, do Kinderdijk and Delft by car; with five, pick one. Ships berth at the Wilhelminakade by the Erasmus Bridge, and Kinderdijk's windmills are about 26 minutes by road, Delft about 23 minutes. A car by the hour starts and ends at the quay: six hours is €390 in Business Class or €480 in Van Class. Note that from mid-March to 1 November cars park at Kinderdijk's Transferium in Alblasserdam and a free shuttle bus runs to the windmills, so allow a little time for that.

Car or WaterShuttle?

The WaterShuttle reaches Kinderdijk from Rotterdam in about 30 minutes and is a pleasant ride if windmills are your only stop. The car wins when you want a second stop, have limited mobility, or the sailing time is tight.

Can we see The Hague too?

It's about 28 minutes from the quay; on a six-hour call choose The Hague or Delft, not both with Kinderdijk.

Where does the car meet us?

At the terminal entrance with a name sign.

Is the Euromast worth it?

On a clear day the view from the top explains the port, and it stands across the river from the terminal.
