When is the best time to visit Giethoorn to avoid the crowds?
Early, before 11am: the tour buses arrive in force between 11am and 1pm, stay until about 4pm in summer, and then the village empties again. Tuesday to Thursday are the quietest days, the municipality counts April to October as its busy season, and in July and August you should book the boat before you travel because boats sell out.

Long summer days
