Can I get a driver plus a guide for a WWII tour from Amsterdam?
Yes, as two bookings: we drive, and a battlefield guide you choose does the guiding, riding along from Amsterdam or joining you near the sites. With the guide on board, Van Class seats the guide and up to 6 of you at €80 an hour, so a 10-hour day along the Market Garden route, about 310 km, costs €800, plus the guide’s own fee.

Minimum 2 hours, 40 km included per hour. The guide’s fee is agreed with the guide and paid to them. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At an airport or an intercity station the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). Free cancellation up to 1 hour before pickup.

What is included in the price

Why we keep driving and guiding apart
A good battlefield guide spends years on the ground, the archives and the veterans’ accounts; a good chauffeur spends them on roads, timing and the comfort of the people in the back. Doing both at once means the story gets told at 100 km/h with eyes on the traffic, or the driving suffers while a map is explained.
So your chauffeur drives and your guide guides. Book the guide first, agree the route and the meeting point with them, and send us both; we plan the pickup, the stops and the time the day needs.

Can you recommend a guide?
We do not supply guides or have an arrangement with one at the moment. Choose a guide who specializes in the part of the campaign that matters to you, and ask them whether they ride along or meet you at a station.
Does the guide ride in our car?
If you like, yes, and then the guide counts as a passenger: Business Class takes up to 3 people in total, Van Class up to 7.
Who pays the guide?
You do, directly: the guide’s fee is agreed with the guide. Our price covers the car and the chauffeur for the hours you book.
