I'm landing at Schiphol with a cello. Which car should I book?
Book the Van and say what the instrument is, because it should travel in the cabin with you rather than in a trunk. A cello case is nearly as tall as an adult, and many cellists already buy it a seat on the plane; in the Van it rides on the seats in the climate-controlled cabin, with room for your suitcase in the back. A double bass or harp needs the case dimensions so dispatch can check the fit. The chauffeur meets you inside the arrivals hall with your name, and you go straight to the hotel, the hall or the audition: Schiphol to Amsterdam is €125 in the Van, and Schiphol to The Hague has a fixed route price of €135 in the Van; declared bulky items can change the price you see before paying.

Schiphol to any Amsterdam address is a fixed price per car, with meet and greet inside the arrivals hall and the first 60 minutes of waiting free. Rides outside Amsterdam are priced from the measured road distance (or a fixed route price where one applies) and shown as one fixed price before you book. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. During ADE week (pickups October 20 to 26, 2026) fixed ADE-week prices apply, shown before you book; promo codes cannot be used that week. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At an airport or an intercity station the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). Free cancellation up to 1 hour before pickup.
What is included in the price
- Flight tracking from the moment you book: an early or late landing moves the pickup, at no extra cost
- Your chauffeur inside the arrivals hall your flight feeds into, holding an iPad sign with your name (or a company name, or no name)
- A message or call from the chauffeur around landing, so you find each other quickly
- Luggage carried from the hall to the car, which waits in the Privium section at the front of P1, a covered walk of about two minutes
- The first 60 minutes of waiting at Schiphol
- Water and phone chargers (iOS and Android) in the car; English-speaking chauffeur and 24/7 dispatch
Instrument and car
| Instrument | Car | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Violin or viola | Any class | Keep it on your lap or beside you |
| Cello | Van | Rides on the seats, not in the trunk |
| Double bass, harp | Van, after a size check | Send the case dimensions |
| Several instruments for an ensemble | Van, or two cars | Tell dispatch the full list |
Days around a performance
For a concert day, an hourly booking keeps the car with you between hotel, rehearsal and hall, at €80 an hour in the Van. Waiting after the concert is part of the booking, so there is no need to wait at a taxi rank in concert dress with a case.
Related questions
Can you collect us from the stage door?
Yes; give the exact door in the notes.
What if my flight is delayed and the rehearsal is fixed?
The flight is tracked; tell dispatch the rehearsal time so the route is planned around it.
Is the car warm enough in winter?
The cabin is heated; the instrument never sits in a cold trunk.
