BLACK FRIDAY · FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2026 · AMSTERDAM

Where should I shop in Amsterdam on Black Friday 2026, and how do I get the VAT back?

Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026. Luxury brands cluster on the P.C. Hooftstraat, the big chains on the Kalverstraat, and independent boutiques in the Nine Streets. Non-EU residents get back the 21% Dutch VAT, less the refund company's fee, on at least €50 spent in one store on one day; since January 1, 2026 you validate the export at Schiphol in the free NL Customs VAT app, before you check your bags.

By the hour: minimum 2 hours, 40 km included per hour, and the day starts and ends in the same city. The driver waits between stops. Schiphol to any Amsterdam address is a fixed price per car, with meet and greet inside the arrivals hall. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. During ADE week (pickups October 20 to 26, 2026) fixed ADE-week prices apply, shown before you book; promo codes cannot be used that week. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At an airport or an intercity station the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). Free cancellation up to 1 hour before pickup.

VAT refund in four steps

  1. Ask the store for a tax-free form; bring your passport.
  2. At Schiphol, validate your purchases in the NL Customs VAT app before checking your bags.
  3. If the app does not work, go to the customs desk in Departure Hall 3, before security, open daily from 07:00 to 20:30.
  4. Collect the refund in cash at a refund desk in Departures 3, such as Planet's (daily 06:00 to 22:00), or on your card.

Shopping with a driver

Bags go into the car between streets; three hours cost €195 in Business Class. On your departure day, Amsterdam to Schiphol is a fixed €80; see whether a driver can help with the refund at Schiphol.
