Is there a women-only taxi in Amsterdam?
Not in the way some cities have one, but there are ways to get a woman driver. A taxi rank gives you the next licensed car in line, so you can't choose. A women-owned ride app launched in Amsterdam in 2025 with six women drivers at the start. Uber's Women Preferences option was live in 40 countries by February 2026, including Germany and France, but the announcement didn't list the Netherlands, so check the app before you rely on it. The most predictable route is to pre-book: AmstelCab arranges a female chauffeur on request and confirms her on WhatsApp before your ride is final.

Rides inside Amsterdam have a fixed price per car: up to 10 km and up to 15 km. Prices are per car, not per person, with 9% Dutch VAT included, and the same day and night. During ADE week (pickups October 20 to 26, 2026) fixed ADE-week prices apply, shown before you book; promo codes cannot be used that week. Booked less than 12 hours before pickup: +10%. At an airport or an intercity station the first 60 minutes of waiting are free, elsewhere 15 minutes; after that waiting is charged per minute at the class's hourly rate (Business €65 an hour). Free cancellation up to 1 hour before pickup.
What is included in the price
- A fixed price confirmed at booking, with VAT included: no meter and no surge
- The chauffeur’s name, car and phone number before pickup, plus e-mail reminders 24 hours and 2 hours ahead
- Water and phone chargers (iOS and Android) in the car
- Status updates to the person who booked, if that is not the passenger: confirmed, chauffeur en route, guest in the car, arrived

Why booking ahead matters
Women are a minority behind the wheel, so supply is the issue, not willingness. Earlier women-driver taxi services in the Netherlands, such as the pink taxis that started in Amsterdam in 2020, show the demand is real; the limiting factor is how many drivers are on duty at your hour. A request a few days ahead turns "maybe" into a name.
A female chauffeur, on request
Ask for a female chauffeur in the booking notes or on WhatsApp. Dispatch checks which chauffeur partners are free at your date and time and confirms on WhatsApp before you pay. Your booking is final only after that confirmation.
