FEMALE CHAUFFEUR ON REQUEST · A SOLO WOMAN'S DAY TRIP WITH A FEMALE CHAUFFEUR

I want a day trip from Amsterdam on my own. Can a female chauffeur take me?

Yes, ask for a female chauffeur on an hourly booking. Three days out work especially well alone: Zaanse Schans, Edam and Volendam is the shortest loop (about 65 km, 5 hours for €325 in Business Class); Kinderdijk's windmills are about 87 km away (6 hours, €390); Giethoorn, the village without roads, is about 116 km away and needs 7 to 8 hours (€455 to €520). The car waits at every stop, so your coat, purchases and handbag can stay locked in it.

While you're out

  • The chauffeur drops you at the entrance and parks nearby; at Kinderdijk cars use the Transferium in Alblasserdam from mid-March to 1 November, with a free shuttle bus to the windmills.
  • In Giethoorn the car stops at the edge of the village; the boat company you book usually says where.
